āLet it go.ā
More than just a phrase ā it’s a way of living. One that requires consistent practice. But once you master it, thereās no turning back.
Let me share something personal.
Growing up, I was an extremely sensitive kid. I couldnāt handle it when a friend stopped talking to me at school, when the Indian cricket team lost, or even when the power went off during my favorite TV show. Every little emotional setback would shake me.
My mom used to say just one thing again and again:
āYou need to learn to let it go.ā
At the time, I didnāt understand the depth of that advice. But as I approached my late teens, I began to realize how fragile I was emotionally ā and how that wouldnāt help me survive in a world that doesnāt always treat us gently.
So I took her advice seriously.
āLet it goā became my daily mantra.
It wasnāt easy. It was painful at first. But I persisted, because I knew: If I didnāt change, I wouldnāt stand a chance in the real world.
Over the years, practicing the art of letting go turned me into someone people now see as strong ā sometimes even stone-hearted. But the truth is, I just learned how to carry on without carrying everything with me.
From my early 20s to now, life didnāt magically become easier. In fact, some of my biggest failures, toughest setbacks, and emotional struggles all happened in the last decade.
The difference?
Now I know how to let go ā and thatās what helps me move forward, again and again.
So if you’re holding onto something that’s weighing you down ā pain, failure, resentment ā just try it.
Let it go.
It might be the reset your soul needs.
