You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. 🤔

With the rise of gig economy and 100% remote jobs, I’ve been reflecting on something fascinating: Why do we still send our kids to school?

Is it just for grades? Knowledge acquisition?

The real answer: Schools teach us everything – including how to collaborate, communicate, and learn from others.

If education was only about knowledge transfer, homeschooling would have dominated centuries ago. But humans are naturally wired to connect, observe, and grow through interaction.

Here’s my perspective: Even if you work for the world’s most successful startup remotely, you might miss out on: ✓ Absorbing company culture organically
✓ Learning from the best minds around you ✓ Those spontaneous “aha” moments in hallway conversations

The bottom line: If your organization wants you in the office, don’t see it as a burden. View each commute as an investment in your growth.

Every day in the office is an opportunity to:

  • Learn from colleagues
  • Build meaningful relationships
  • Collaborate in ways that video calls can’t replicate
  • Celebrate wins together
  • Achieve collective success

Just like you did in school and university – where some of your best achievements happened through collaboration.

What’s your take? Are you team remote, hybrid, or fully in-office? 👇
