There Is Never a Wrong Time to Do the Right Thing

August 11, 2025

I’ve always believed in this statement. But over the years, I pushed myself with one clear mission — to achieve my goals one by one, within a fixed timeline.

There’s nothing wrong with that — if you want to achieve something big, you can’t keep making excuses.

However, I initially failed to understand one crucial truth: life is a marathon, not a sprint.

With my pace, I knew I could burn out within the next few hundred yards… while my goals were still miles away.

So what’s the hack to sustaining the marathon?

💡 Do what you love during your breaks.

Not for results. Not for recognition. Not for progress.
Purely for the joy of it.

I postponed this for years, until I came across Vijayakarthikeyan K, a doctor-turned-IAS officer and Commissioner in Tamil Nadu. Despite his high-pressure bureaucratic role, he still finds time to follow his passion for cricket — even running a YouTube channel for it.

Witnessing this at the right moment was a game-changer for me.

Now I have my own hack for running the marathon of life:
✅ Take breaks when your mind and body ask for it.
✅ Do things you love — cooking, running, swimming, dancing, playing — without expectations.

Because your main race is already tough.
This is not a race — it’s your recovery session.
And without recovery, you can’t finish the marathon.
